In the library halls there are also 11 computers connected to the Internet available to academic staff and students to get the information they want online. Books and magazines are shelved systematically according to 10 branches of science (from 0 to 9), and within the branch have been sorted by the first three letters of the surname of the author or title deeds, when they have no author. They are equipped with inventory number that goes in a progressive order. The library is open funds and readers have the opportunity to receive information directly from the shelves of books. Library materials (books and magazines) are working according to international standards of library processing as ISBD (International Standard of Bibliographic Description), ACR2 (American Cataloging Rules 2), UDC (Classification Decimal Universal) and thesaurus or subject titles table. The library is automated. Books are recorded in an electronic catalog according to a program (turbosoft.me:802) that operates on the intranet, but can also move to the Internet, enabling exchange information with other libraries of the country abroad. Since cataloging is done according to international rules, the conversion of bibliographic data in the future in a more advanced program is completely possible. From the computer connected to the network in Central Campus or buildings in “Dibra Street”, the academicstaff and students can use online catalog OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) to obtain information about library funding. Seeking material can be done with the title, subtitle, author, keywords, publishing houses etc.

The library worker which is qualified and with extensive experience in the field of library science, processes and records in an electronic catalog all the library materials. She serves and lends books under a regulation adopted by the Governing Board of the University and these books are recorded on reader’s cards. These cards are administered by the library. University’s policy is to further enrich the library with purchases or donations. Our goal is to connect online with other universities’ libraries at home and abroad.

In our close plans is the implementation of a program for the circulation of borrowed library materials, which will be realized in cooperation with the Department of Information Technology.
